This stunning Flying Mercury Bronze Statue is a masterful reproduction of the iconic sculpture by world-renowned artist Giambologna, originally crafted in 1580. Depicting Mercury, the Roman messenger of the gods, this large figurative sculpture captures the deity in a dynamic contraposto pose, one leg raised and arm pointing skyward toward Jupiter, radiating elegance and power. Mercury is adorned with his signature winged helmet and sandals, and carries the caduceus in his hand. The piece features a beautiful vibrant green patina permanently fused into the bronze under high heat, giving it a striking and timeless appearance. Cast using the traditional lost wax method from the finest pure bronze, this sculpture boasts exceptional detail and is signed "Giambologna" directly in the bronze. It is mounted on a decorative black marble base, making it a perfect tabletop display piece. Measuring 22 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, and weighing 17 pounds, this is a truly impressive work of art ideal for collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
